En route from Laos to the beaches, we had the chance to stop in Chiang Mai for 2 nights. Leaving Chiang Rai was no easy feat - a random Sunday night Chang-fest led to wicked Changovers the next morning. (Thanks Jordy and Naida of Castlegar, we hope you were feeling great for your afternoon bus!!) Dave and I managed to eat some 30 Baht noodle soup and preceded to sleep through the 3 hour VIP bus ride to Chiang Mai. As a side note, the VIP buses in Thailand are so worth the extra $6.00 price tag! Full on recliner chairs with leg rests, toilets on board, snacks provided.
Arriving to a familiar city is comforting, a feeling not often experienced when traveling around as we have been! We immediately seeked out our favorite restaurants for some khao soi, penang curry, mango curry and cashew nut with chicken. Sadly, our favorite soup place was closed for the 2 days we were there!
With only 1 full day to enjoy, we decided to take another cooking class. Galangal cooking studio did an awesome job of getting Dave and I cooking like curry masters! Again, hopefully we can replicate some of the dishes at home.
Traveling through Northern Thailand again has been fabulous, but we are looking forward to a change of scenery and pace. Next up is Krabi...
